The first Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique has opened in Paris (Femme and Homme nextdoor on place du Marché St-Honoré) and it is well stocked with the full line of Special Items- A great excuse for some early gift-shopping! Some of our favorite picks:

A celebrity favorite, the Midday Midnight bag by Gerard Darel needs no further introduction. We’ve posted about the style before when Jessica Alba was seen toting the purple Saint-Germain crazy bag. For fall the bag comes in several new leather options, and add to that the somewhat confusing Darel naming system, we thought we’d give you a small rundown of the new collection:

The Midday Midnight is available in 2 sizes:
-24h medium - dimensions approx: 38 x 38 x 15 cm
-36h large (as seen on most of the celebs) approx. 45 w x 43 h x 15 cm deep

The names vary according to the leather used:

Saint Germain: calfskin / vachette leather
Currently available in the 24h size: in black, medium brown, camel and grey for 360 euro.  It is uncertain at this point which other fall colors, as shown on the Darel site, will actually be made in this style- we’ll keep you posted when we learn more!

Sorrento: shiny patent calfskin/ cuir vernis with a ‘cracked’ effect.
-36h size: 380 euro - Colors: Wine, chocolate, petrol blue, bright turquoise blue, black
-24h: 270 euro, currently available only in black and chocolate brown

Barcelona: glazed lambskin/ agneau glacé
IMHO the nicest leather choice, delicate lambskin is finished with a subtle glazed finish to make it more durable.
Colors: black, medium brown, beige, bordeaux, petrol blue as seen on Eva Longoria above, and my personal favorite: a gorgeous grey/violet color, with a distinct purple hue depending on the light.
Price: - 36h: 490 euro – 24h: 450 euro

Utah: This luxe python version is available in 24h size only. Colors: brown, solid beige and ‘spotted’ natural. Note: There is no removable interior pocket in the python version. Price: 1200 euro

My favorite Isabel Marant jewelry piece this fall is the Native Dream pendant. I love the streamlined bird shape, very mid century mod, and the glazed ceramic finish (like Isabel Marant’s popular pear necklace!) It is available in many beautiful hues: grey, camel, red, jade green, black, a great mauve/pink, navy blue and seafoam, as pictured above. Retail price: 95 euro with matching small bird earrings for 60 euro.

If you can’t choose just one shade, there’s the great Rainbow Dream necklace with small multicolored birds, priced at 220 euro.

Other striking pieces in this collection include ceramic pebble beads on brass chains or ribbon, dainty brass bird and feather motifs, and a very rock chic brass horn pendant with a lion’s head.

For fall Gerard Darel reinvents the wildly popular maxi dress in a lovely romantic floral version. The purple floral silk muslin fabric is interpreted in several styles throughout the collection, including a pretty ruffled blouse with ¾ length sleeves as seen on Jessica Alba, above.
